Yoga 4 Writing
6 weeks: 90-minute classes
Writing is a physical act. Yoga connects the body more deeply to the writing. By paying attention to different parts of the body, we are able to access stories that may have been forgotten. By creating more awareness of the body in space, we increase presence, and attention - crucial for the writing process. A short yoga and meditation practice at the beginning of each session gives us access to unique perspectives in our writing: stories of blood and bone, organs and fascia.
These writing sessions will stretch your body and your mind, will challenge you to find new voices, new points of view, new stories. Your writing will never be the same.
COMING THIS WINTER 2023:
An 8-week virtual yoga/movement and writing group experience with a special focus on the chakras.
Access memories stored in the body.
Utilize the body's energy centres as prompts for writing.
Learn trauma-informed movement techniques to calm the nervous system.
Use breath to facilitate writing "difficult" stories.
Lindy is a registered yoga instructor (RYT 200), with certifications in Yin Yoga, Kids Yoga, Reiki Level II, Trauma Sensitive Yoga, BrainDance, and Dynamic Mindfulness for Stress Resilience. She has a master's in psychology, with advanced training in restorative practices, and is a certified breath coach.
